Answer: You'll have to unwrap your existing tape, add the gel pieces and then re-wrap the tape. Because the gel adds some thickness, your existing tape may not be long enough. The gel pieces are "tacky" to the touch, so they will stick to your bars long enough for you to wrap the tape, or you can use some electrical tape to hold them in place.I re-used my existing leather bar tape, because I like the look and feel of it, and I was able to make it reach by wrapping tightly and with a bit less overlap. The gel adds a nice amount of padding that leather doesn't supply - better than the cushy tape on my Cannondale Synapse and at least as good as the fizik 3mm tape on my fast bike.

Question: How are these for narrow feet
Answer: Not heavy at all. I have to agree the post below. My feet slide forward as well. These are made for wide feet. I wear a size 10, but my feet are narrow. Since there is no way to tighten the shoes my feet slide around. I wore them yesterday for a walk and my toes are really sore. I would not recommend someone with narrow feet to buy them.
