Answer:	No, the case doesn't do anything special to charge the Apple Pencil. To charge the Apple Pencil, you plug it into a lightning cable. (The Apple Pencil has a "cap" where the eraser would be on a pencil, and when you remove the cap you'll see a lightning connector.) The Apple Pencil's lightning connector is "male" so this means you have to use a "female-to-female" adapter to use a lighting cable to be able to attach the Apple Pencil's (male) lightning connector. This "female to female" adapter comes with the Apple Pencil but if you lose one you can by one for around $5 to $8. Alternatively, you CAN charge the Apple Pencil by plugging it's male lightning connector directly into the female lightning port of the iPad itself.
