Answer:	The Outdoor Midweight (43% NuWool / 43% Acrylic / 12% Nylon / 2% Lycra) is the thickest in my experience, the Trail is similar but maybe slightly thinner. The Trail Midweight is all synthetic: 39% Coolmax® (Polyester) / 58% Nylon / 3% Lycra® The Outdoor comes in two thicknesses, original (thinner) and midweight, while the Trail only comes in Midweight I find the outdoor crew slightly more conformable than the Trail crew, but that's probably because the Trail crew did not come in XL size previously, and I prefer a looser fit especially at the ankle. I just ordered the Trail in XL size in both crew and mini crew size, and I expect that I'll find it about as comfortable or maybe more, than the Outdoor.

Answer:	I have bunions and my big toes have turned in and rub the second toe. So much so that I have to tape my toes to prevent blistering. I picked up 4 pair last year in preparation of a 50km run. They are thicker than their "normal" socks. There is extra padding in the midfoot and the toes. They are not "thick" like some trail or hiking socks. I have gotten these wet within 10 minutes of a 3 hour run without blistering. With the normal pair, I would blow out the tops of the big toe within a couple of runs. I have started using them for my normal pavement running as well.Once they are on, they feel good no movements.Good luck.
