| Answer: | Hello--I have measured this with my tape and a ruler and it's 1 inch across from the outside of the watch face. The narrow gold band that encircles the face is 1/8" wide. If the manufacturer stated the 39 mm size, I would believe them. I doubt any manufacturer is going to give you incorrect or misleading info, especially one the caliber of Skagen. This is really a lovely watch and very easy to see and read. It could be worn for casual or dress. Also, and very important to me, the band is very comfortable and of course can be easily adjusted. The snap closure is also easy to use and is very secure. As I've said in my original review, Skagen is an excellent brand. I have one with an all silver band, this one with the gold and silver, and I'm going to purchase another with an all gold band as soon as I decide on the style. I have watches that were much more expensive, yet I find myself reaching for my Skagen's. Also, I get more compliments on my Skagen's than any of the other expensive watches, a few of which were over $1000. I guess you can tell I love this brand. If you have any doubts, I suggest that you go to a local store that carries the brand and check it out for yourself. Good luck to you in your hunt for your perfect watch.
