Answer:	I bought this shemagh on a base a few years ago. I have had other shemaghs before that were cheaply made and felt scratchy against the skin. My shemagh was sold by Blackhawk was about 44"x44" out of the box (and soft), and the more you wash it the softer it feels, and the longer it stretches (if air dried). If you machine wash and dry it will shrink a tad but will stretch right back out with use. Mine stretches out to about 45"x45", and sometimes a little more when wet. Also, I've taken it to many countries and used it in the desert as well, no stains or holes yet; and I've used it as a towel, head dress, etc... It's a great item to have and great quality.
