Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

Answer:	Search "Invicta Link Removal" on You Tube. There are many videos, some are better than others. Pay attention to the direction of the arrows on the bracelet links.
Question:	What is the difference between invicta 8926ob pro diver and invicta 17044 pro diver, the second is cheaper, what are other differences
Answer:	They are pretty much the same watch and both have an Automatic Seiko movement (NH35A). The only difference I have found is the 8926OB face is more similar to the Rolex Submariner, with tabs instead of dots at the 3, 6 and 9 positions. Also, the loupe over the date window is slightly more powerful on the 8926OB, making it easier to read the date. I have both watches and prefer the 8926OB!
Question:	Can enough links be removed to accommodate a 6.5" (approx.) wrist
Answer:	Yes. I have a 6.25" wrist, and had to remove all but one link. So for a 6.5" wrist, removing all but 2 should be fine. The respondent above who said the links are graduated in size is mistaken. All the _removable_ links are the same size.
Question:	What is the difference between 8926OB and 17044 ? Which is the better one
Answer:	The 8926OB has straight indicese at 6 and 9 while the 17044 has round ones. The band width on the 8926 is 20mm while 18mm on the 17044. The case thickness on the 8926 is 11mm while 14mm on the 17044.17044 is a newer model (jan 2014) and the 8926OB is 2006 (with a new version in 2011). Also, the 17044 lists a "stopwatch" as a special feature.

Answer:	It only shows day and date. The day can be set for either English or Spanish, on the photo is shows Spanish.

Answer:	The case is 37mm. I don't know the lengths of the lugs extended from the case. It's a smaller watch slightly in comparison to the skx009 (Pepsi diver) in diameter, but much slimmer in thickness because the snk807 isn't waterproofed for saturation or beefed up in thick stainless steel for extra durability. It won't get in the way with long sleeve shirts/dress shirts. It's not a "cheap" watch by any means in terms of build quality. It does its job as it is intended to do. It's a comfortable sporty/dress casual watch that can go on adventures taking a beating, to work in many environments, and to last you for possibly your whole life with Seiko's robust and accurate 7s26 movement. You will not be disappointed.

Answer:	An 18mm band is the largest size you may use on the Seiko 5 SNK807.
Question:	If it is solar, why "Nonstandard Battery batteries required
Answer:	As the owner of this watch for 12 years, I can tell you to go ahead and disregard the people who say you can only "wash it but don't submerge it." Baloney. The manufacturer may not claim its waterproof (because then how do they claim the next step up is better? Or avoid having to replace the occasional QC fail?) But here's a list of what you can do in this watch without concern: I've snorkeled in this watch down to 5 meters for four+ hours of continuous submersion. I've laid in a pool for an entire day, playing volleyball and going down waterslides. I've parasailed and jumped off high dives. I've gone jetskiing, boating, waterskiing, tubing, kneeboarding and fallen HARD wearing it. I've showered, bathed and sat in hot tubs FAR beyond the recommended healthy time limit with it on. Not a whiff of condensation or corrosion. NEVER been serviced. Still keeps perfect time. With the exception of actual SCUBA diving beyond 5 meters, this watch can take it. Not sure if these other guys own one or just read a website describing what WR means, but I own it, I've owned it a long time, and there's simply no stopping this thing. There is literally no better watch on earth for $60. Believe me, I've looked. I also own far more expensive watches and keep considering re-buying this one. I love the size of it too, very demure. Can find it cheaper on ebay and other watch sites than on amazon, too.

To set the time *(refer to full-setting instructions here: Manual ):

1. Stop the second hand by pulling the crown out to the 2nd click (time setting position).
2. Turn the crown to set the time.
3. The watch will start after the crown is firmly pushed back into its normal position

To set the Calendar*:

1. Pull the crown out to the first click (calendar setting position).
2. Set the desired date by turning the crown counterclockwise.
3. Set the desired day of the week by turning the crown clockwise.
4. After you have set the calendar, be sure to press the crown back to its normal position

*Do not adjust the calendar when the watch is reading between 9:00 pm and 4:00 am, otherwise the movement may become damaged and the calendar may not change correctly

Answer:	I love this watch but you don't wind it conventionally. It is automatic so you have to tilt it back and forth and the pendulum inside does the winding for you. Simply wearing the watch will wind it up and then it is good for 24 to 30 hours on standby. If you wear it every day it will keep good time. If it sits for a couple of days you will have to set the time and date, tilt it back and forth a few times and then it is good to go.

Question:	What is the difference between the j1 and the k
Answer:	Almost all Seiko, Casio & citizens are now assembled in factories outside Japan such as Korea, Thailand or China. Only the movement is made in Japan. If you are looking for Japan, you will need to search the model number with a "J" instead of "K", or we'll find it in the title or description. What is the difference between model with "J" and "K"? (SKX009K1 and SKX009J1) "K" model, only movement is Made in Japan, and assembled and produced in neighboring countries outside of Japan. "J" model is 100% made / assembled / made in Japan. Kindly be also informed that almost all Seiko watches has two (2) language on the date wheel, It's either English/Spanish Or English/Arabic. English/Arabic is mostly applied for Japanese Version, Non-Japanese made will be the English/Spanish. And "J" models have the English/Arabic language for date wheel, while "K" has English/Spanish date wheel.

Answer:	Usually Malaysia. Japanese made Seiko automatic models have a J in the model name and usually priced slightly higher. It's debatable if Japanese made makes any meaningful difference in real use.

Answer:	snk807 is smaller at 37mm and has a odd crown position. It has a flat dial with 5 minute markers more prominently placed. Snk807 is also less water resistant at 30m. The band width is smaller so it wears like a unisex watch.Snzg11 is almost 42mm in diameter with 22mm band. It is rated to 100m water resistant. The dial has hour number markers and better lume.
Question:	The watch is water resistant to 330 feet . Does that mean I can swim and shower with it
Answer:	Well, yes and no. I've worn my snorkeling before and it continues to tick along with no trouble. You could go diving with it on too -- down to a couple hundred feet, at least. But, if you're talking about swimming laps, that's a different story, because the repeated impact of your wrist hitting the water can be a lot harder on the watch than simply soaking in deep water. Similarly, the water stream in a shower would be no problem for the watch, but extended exposure to hot, steamy environments could over time degrade the seals on the watch. So, short answer to your question is 'yes.' The longer answer is, be careful anyway, and maybe take it off in the shower.

Answer:	Because of the fat day/date window taking up so much space, that's why. Squeezing in another index will render the said areas too crowded; not elegant. No, personally speaking, it's not annoying at all. Aesthetically, it has done no wrong. Then again, it's my personal opinion. I simply adore this watch. The green dial with the gold indices are a perfect match.

Answer:	Only Time will tell. Seriously though, this is in my weekly watch rotation and it does slow down and need to be reset after 2 days of not wearing it. 8-9 hours, not sure.

Question:	Is this watch solar power meaning can it be charged by any light, just like a eco drive
Answer:	No. This is a completely different type of watch. It doesn't have any battery, and doesn't have any electrical motors and does not have a quartz crystal. It's a mechanical watch, meaning its power of movement comes from a wound spring, which is allowed only to unwind very slowly. This regulated unwinding of the spring rotates a series of gears, which in turn causes regular ticking of the second hand and slow circular rotation of the minute and hour hand, and the flipping of day and date. Quite a clever thing. But **NOT** solar. Solar watches keep time by passing electric charge through a quartz crystal, a method of timing that's much more accurate than the pendular motion of a wheel mounted on a fine hairspring that regulates the 'escapement' of energy from the main spring of mechanical watches. It's probably good to be aware that quartz watches, including solar,k keep time to about 10 seconds per month, (or better, usually), and automatic watches are doing pretty well to keep time withing 8 seconds per day (or 250 seconds, 4 minutes per month! Why would anyone want a mechanical watch then? No particular good reason really; a child-like fascination with mechanical things, mostly, I think.

Answer:	I know this is late, but it may still help you or others out there. All automatics are affected by gravity when on the nightstand or resting overnight. The position you rest the watch in has a direct effect on its timekeeping. As a general rule, face up or down usually gains a few seconds while crown (stem) up or down will cause the watch to lose a few seconds. Each watch is different and you have to experiment to see what his watch likes and doesn't like. There is a free app called Atomic Clock & Watch Accuracy Tool (with NTP Time) that will let him track his watch overnight so he can figure out the best resting position. It's best to wind the watch fully by hand in the evening, record the precise time, wear it the next day, and re-record the time 24 hours later. This may take a few days to complete since there are 4 positions for resting and you should really give the cycle a couple of days in each position before you change to the next. Normally, automatics come with a +/- 20 to 40 second per day disclaimer from the manufacturer. However, with the right adjustments, they can be +/- 1 second per day timepieces. My $300 Invicta Swiss actually keeps better time than my $7500 Rolex Sub by 5 seconds per 30 day period The Invicta Swiss gains 10 seconds per month and the Rolex 15. Both have been regulated and beat error adjusted by a certified horologist. I have automatics from Seiko and Orient too, and adjusted they are +/- 1.5 to 2 second per day watches. I hope this helps.
