13 best divers watches
Diver watches, also known as diving watches, are specialized timepieces designed for underwater activities. These watches are particularly popular among divers and water sports enthusiasts due to their durability, water resistance, and unique features. Here are some key points about diver watches:
Water Resistance: Diver watches are designed to withstand the pressures of underwater environments. They are rigorously tested and often have water resistance ratings ranging from 200 meters (660 feet) to 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) or more.
Rotating Bezel: One of the defining features of a diver watch is its unidirectional rotating bezel, typically marked with minute indicators. Divers use this bezel to track elapsed time, especially during decompression stops.
Luminous Markings: To ensure readability in low-light conditions underwater, diver watches have luminous markers and hands. This luminescence is usually powered by materials like Super-LumiNova or tritium.
Screw-Down Crown: Diver watches often feature a screw-down crown, which creates a watertight seal when screwed into the case. This prevents water from entering the watch through the crown.
Helium Escape Valve: Some professional-grade diver watches are equipped with a helium escape valve. This feature is essential for saturation divers who work in underwater habitats, as it allows built-up helium to escape from the watch during decompression.
Durability: Diver watches are built to be robust and resistant to the challenges of underwater environments. They typically use stainless steel or titanium for their cases and feature scratch-resistant sapphire crystals.
ISO Certification: Many high-quality diver watches are ISO 6425 certified, ensuring they meet specific standards for diving watches, including water resistance, legibility, and shock resistance.
Strap Options: Diver watches often come with various strap options, including rubber, NATO-style straps, or stainless steel bracelets. The choice of strap depends on personal preference and intended use.
Style: Diver watches are known for their sporty and functional design. They often have bold, easy-to-read dials and a rugged appearance, making them popular not only among divers but also as fashion accessories.
Historical Significance: Diver watches have a rich history and are associated with famous watch brands like Rolex, Omega, and Seiko. Some iconic models have played crucial roles in underwater exploration and maritime adventures.
In summary, diver watches are specialized timepieces designed for underwater use. They offer water resistance, durability, and essential features like a rotating bezel and luminous markings, making them both functional tools for divers and stylish accessories for watch enthusiasts.

With a bold design, this Invicta chronograph has a poised and calm ambience that’s sure to have you looking twice.
Classic styling and high performance add up to an outstanding sport watch for your land or sea adventures. This automatic watch, from Invicta's Pro Diver series, places a large round stainless steel case on a robust triple link steel bracelet. The black dial is designed for quick and easy read-off, even in low light conditions. It offers three-hand function with Tritnite-coated luminous hands and hour markers and a magnified date display at the three o'clock mark. The dial is capped with a resilient mineral crystal and framed by a black unidirectional rotating steel bezel with coin edge detailing. This watch is driven by Japanese automatic movement, which is visible through the see-through skeleton case back. It is rated water resistant to a full 660 feet (200 meters).
Automatic Watches
Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. When this type of watch is removed from your wrist, the movement winds down in 10 to 72 hours, depending on the size of its winding reserve Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.
Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).
Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a self help on removing two or three links? I have the tools |
Answer: | Search "Invicta Link Removal" on You Tube. There are many videos, some are better than others. Pay attention to the direction of the arrows on the bracelet links. |
Question: | What is the difference between invicta 8926ob pro diver and invicta 17044 pro diver, the second is cheaper, what are other differences |
Answer: | They are pretty much the same watch and both have an Automatic Seiko movement (NH35A). The only difference I have found is the 8926OB face is more similar to the Rolex Submariner, with tabs instead of dots at the 3, 6 and 9 positions. Also, the loupe over the date window is slightly more powerful on the 8926OB, making it easier to read the date. I have both watches and prefer the 8926OB! |
Question: | Can enough links be removed to accommodate a 6.5" (approx.) wrist |
Answer: | Yes. I have a 6.25" wrist, and had to remove all but one link. So for a 6.5" wrist, removing all but 2 should be fine. The respondent above who said the links are graduated in size is mistaken. All the _removable_ links are the same size. |
Question: | What is the difference between 8926OB and 17044 ? Which is the better one |
Answer: | The 8926OB has straight indicese at 6 and 9 while the 17044 has round ones. The band width on the 8926 is 20mm while 18mm on the 17044. The case thickness on the 8926 is 11mm while 14mm on the 17044.17044 is a newer model (jan 2014) and the 8926OB is 2006 (with a new version in 2011). Also, the 17044 lists a "stopwatch" as a special feature. |

Tritnite is a luminous material with an extended glow exclusively developed by Invicta in Switzerland and added to their timepiece hands and markers. When exposed to regular daylight, it will hold its glow for about 20 hours.
About Invicta
Latin for "invincible," Invicta was founded in La Chaux-de-fonds, Switzerland in 1837 by Raphael Picard, who believed that fine Swiss timepieces could be offered at modest prices. For more than a century, the company has created distinctive manual and automatic-winding pieces. In 1991, descendants of the Picard family reaffirmed the company's founding principle, and the invigorated Invicta has been growing ever since with one of the most widely diverse collections of precise Swiss timepieces on the market.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this a new watch in the box |
Answer: | box papers etc... |
Question: | is the band solid? have the tmi nh35 mov |
Answer: | The Grand Diver has the NH35 movement. Waterproof to 300M. Mine runs at -5sec./day. I'm very pleased with this watch. |
Question: | Has anyone swapped the band out for something else like a Nato Strap? How easy was it to remove the band to replace it |
Answer: | Changing bands is fairly straight forward. I purchased the spring pin changing tool that makes the job a breeze. After removing the OEM steel band, I re-inserted the spring pins. Now changing ZULU or NATO bands takes about 10 secs. As easy as re-lacing your shoes. |
Question: | Gotta love amazon descriptions. description says swiss, yet on features says japanese and then country or origin china. what is it |
Answer: | This watch like most low cost watches today are made in China. The Swiss brand Invicta, dates back from 1837 and was bought a few years back, by a US watch maker in Florida. Some Invictas are made in Swiss and it will say at the bottom face of the watch. This watch in my opinion is built and assembled in China but that does not change a thing about the quality of this watch, which I happened to own. However, the engine is a Japanese Seiko new model nh35 24 jewels engine which makes that watch, a very desirable model. The big downside its the weight about 208grms. The heavy SS band is not screwed together but pinned. I would advise like I did, to replace asap the SS band with a robust quality rubber strap or NATO, because the SS band may break after a while. The watch is now only 138grms. For that kind of money, how can you go wrong... |

Question: | How is this watch powered |
Answer: | The skiing feature is NOT working well. I have used it many times and was getting various false readings including bogus altitude and impossibly high speeds. Not recommended for skiing. But happy with most of scuba related tracking except few small bugs with the mobile app and the diving related screens. |
Question: | How well can you see all 3 hands in the dark? Is it lit in any way |
Answer: | It does not have air integration... one of the biggest downsides to using it as a dive computer, Garmin should have incorporated it for sure! |
Question: | Where does this come from if it takes 1-2 months to arrive |
Answer: | Hi, Thanks for your question. Unffortunately, it can not hold music files. Thanks Divemaster Chris 866-728-2293 Onlinescuba |

Question: | Can you make out what time it is at night while sleeping |
Answer: | Excellent customer service from Andy, and I received a replacement camera within 10 days. Contact [email protected], or [email protected]. Hope that helps. |
Question: | It states in the product specs the band width is "25.6mm", surely that is a mistake? Hope to confirm the correct width. Thank you |
Answer: | If the zeroedge product has a video in that's an RCA plug it should work without a problem. It's just a composite video signal, nothing special. Video out to video in. |
Question: | Could the listing be updated to reflect that this is a men's watch |
Answer: | Slob,I don't know the coldest temp that the camera will sustain, however, I mounted one on my truck, see my previous post, and it has gotten pretty damn cold here in Colorado, sub zero temp with wind chill factor, and the camera is still working as if I had mounted it during the summer. It has withstood rain, ice, snow, sand, and a high pressure car wash. Still going strong. If I could give it 10 stars I would. |
Question: | Is this watch shockproof, if you drop it will it break |
Answer: | No, it is not available. |

Question: | Why do i have to pay to join Prime to buy this watch...its no deal then |
Answer: | Amazon will offer free 12-14 day prime memberships every so often. Wait for one and buy the watch then. |

Answer: | ? Not sure what you mean |
Question: | So this watch was $550 ? Or you juzt make up a price why not say it was 1million but today its |
Answer: | Keep in mind "PRIME days" feature drastic reductions in price for many products. But that is normal for Invicta, they inflate their MSRPs 300% or more to make it seem like you got "the deal of your life"... Its kinda lame but the prices here on Amazon really are great compared to at Kohls or a Jewelers shop. I have bought several watches here. |

Question: | When swapping out the band would it require a 22mm band or a 20mm? Description says 20mm but some reviews state otherwise. Thanks |
Answer: | Not directly. However, you can divide 3600 by the number of seconds it took you to travel one mile to calculate your speed in miles per hour. Line up the '10' on the outer dial with the number of seconds it took you to travel one mile. Look at the 36 (3600) on the inner dial. The number on the outer dial over 36 will show your speed in mph . If it took you 36 seconds or less to travel one mile, multiply the number on the outer dial by 10. |
