| Answer: | I have owned and used this regularly for 4 years and i have never had any rust whatsoever. This is a the best grill basket i have used and i have tried many different types. Stainless steel CAN rust under right circumstances as long as you clean it and dry it off it should be fine i usually burn off the debris after cooking on the grill on high heat and then soak for 20 mins in soapy water light scrub and dry off, cleans up easy I am very happy with this product. |

If it was the bottom area it should be the same measurement each direction. So I think the measurement of the extra inch is for the handles. I will say this is a fairly heavy duty piece, and not the easiest to wash, but we loved it and it worked great so will be getting another in the near future. |
