Answer:	The soles are glued and stitched in. You can also can easily take the cushion out and add another in it. It's a nicely crafted shoe that is water resistant and comfortable. I wore them in the snow and they kept my feet dry and warm. They also have good tread to prevent a lot of slidding.
Question:	What is the actual weight of these shoes
Answer:	Weight is subjective...depends on size. I wear size 14 and I'm sure they weight twice as much as a small mans size. I shopped in a store before buying and compared these to a number of other brands and they are among the lighter weight boots among of the better brands. I found some inexpensive brands that were much lighter but not very good quality. They are not so heavy as to feel weighted. They are not as stiff as I anticipated them to be either.

Answer:	I wear mine all the time. Warm enough for cold weather, but not too warm for warm weather. Obviously not something you would want to wear on the hottest day of the year, though.

I could tel as soon as I put them on with regular socks that they were to narrow and to long. This seems to be the trend that shoe sizes are getting listed as wider but the shoe is a full size narrower then say 20 years ago. 2E should be fine for me nut not I am ordering 3Eand dreaming about shoes that re not to long so that they are wide enough.

Answer:	You're going to want to sun dry them for several hours. Lets say it takes 6 after 3 hours put fabric softner sheets in the front like 2 or 3 each. Also it would be good to wash them. Let them sit in a bucket of warm water with some non damaging soap (use a old toothbrush to clean the nooks and crannies). This process takes 1.5 days one day to clean .5 to dry.

Answer:	I've used these boots in snow several times....granted it was snow pack most of the time but have hike 6 miles in the snow with no problems on different occasions. Take this with a grain of salt cause I was continuously moving and had good circulation going on. As with just about any boot that is called waterproof with the exception of 300-500 dollar mountaineering boots, once they get good and soaked for hours your feet will eventually get wet. I have sprayed extra waterproofing on mine twice now as a back-up. These boots are solid hiking boots....i have put a couple hundred miles on mine so far with just wear on the soles to show for it.
