When getting ready for bed, I slipped them off in the closet and this morning I was able to slip them back on fine. I push my foot as far forward as I can get it before attempting to slip the heel down. Once they're on, I bump the toe and then the heel against the floor to even out my socks. These work fine. |

I wear generic orthotics to save my feet (consider it, plantar facitutus sucks). Thin sock season? Put a thin Dr Scholls underneath. Ok...generic too. |

| Answer: | I live in the mountains in northern Colorado and I've worn (and worn out) Keen Targhee boots for many years. They're the most comfortable boots I've found. But they are not really waterproof. I would describe them as "water resistant". They work fine for awhile in heavy dew or an occasional step into a puddle that isn't too deep; but in drenched grass or continuous rain, my feet get soaking wet. I have tried wearing gators under my pant legs and over the Targhee's and that helps considerably - but my feet still get wet if I am hiking in wet conditions for several hours. I have a pair of Asolo boots with goretex that I wear in those conditions - but they aren't as comfortable. |

| Answer: | I have worn keen voyagers for several years now and they are perfect if you have a wide toe box. Unfortunately they don't last like they did several years ago. The bottom of the shoe starts to come unglued and then goes down hill from there. To answer your question I just returned the venture wp shoe because they were just a little snug for me. I ordered the same size as I usually order in the keens but had to return them. I wanted them to work so my feet wouldn't get wet but for that price a want a perfect fit. I've bought keens for probably 10-12 yrs now but the voyagers are not the quality they used to be. I was hoping this wp shoe would be my replacement but they don't fit like the voyagers . | Answer: | Assuming the heel is made to the same tolerance across the wide band of sizes of this shoe/boot, mine (size 14E) is around 1.5 to 1.75 (1-1/2" to 1-3/4") tall.
