Answer:	Weight is subjective...depends on size. I wear size 14 and I'm sure they weight twice as much as a small mans size. I shopped in a store before buying and compared these to a number of other brands and they are among the lighter weight boots among of the better brands. I found some inexpensive brands that were much lighter but not very good quality. They are not so heavy as to feel weighted. They are not as stiff as I anticipated them to be either.

Answer:	YES！The length of my foot is 27.5cm, i chose 10.5, alought the shoe size is a littler bit large, but it prove the size chart is true. i think 10 is perfect fit to my foot's size.

Answer:	Timberland White Ledge boots are not insulated and so are not particularly warm in and of themselves. However, because they're mostly leather with few seams, they are very waterproof (many boots claim to be waterproof but are not--too many seams and non-leather parts) and keep your feet dry which helps keep them comfortable. You can buy insulated boots, but unless you're like my sister-in-law (her feet are always cold), they will be too warm in the summer. I much prefer to wear a non-insulated boot and then make them feel warmer/cooler by wearing wool socks in winter and cotton socks in summer. As long as your feet stay dry and you have good moisture-wicking wool socks, this sock method works for me in the winter. Make sure there's enough room in the boots for thicker wool socks--cramped feet will always feel cold.
Question:	Does the sole split from the boot
Answer:	Yes, it works on snow. It is the very first shot boot I ever have. And if you notice I use "IS" not "WAS", because I am still wearing it now, since 2004. It is 15 years already. I only use it in winter time and raining day when the weather condition will not be safe with regular sneakers. I use this boot as snow day shoes in each year, for 15 years now, and the shoe is still in very good condition. I am thinking to get a second pair in different color now. BUT, I will not give this boot a 5 -star rating due to the very poor design of the show lace. For no reason, this round shoe lace constantly got loose when I was walking. After many years' upset with the original round shoe lace, I replaced it with regular flat shoe lace and it works very well now. Therefore, I suggest you also get a regular flat shoe lace ready when the round lace is not properly holding up, so you can just replace it.

Answer:	Hello, I understood your question perfectly! I never could get the Timberland boot to fit well . . not the boot's fault . . I'm hard to fit. I ended up sending them back and getting the Caterpillar "Walking Machines" Stock number P72365. I just measured and the sole is 3/4". The heel is just over 1 inch (over by 1/8 of an inch). Sorry I couldn't offer more help on the Timberland PRO . . it's an extremely well made work boot. Also, 1 inch (as reported by another customer) seems to be a little bit of a "stretch" to me on the sole. 3/4" seems to be the average . . I just checked another boot I have, a Wolverine "Multishox". It's sole is just under 1/2" and the heel is just over an inch (by an 1/8th of an inch). I remember my Timberland PROS, and the thickness of the sole was more like 3/4 of an inch. Incidently, these souls have not been worn down, and the numbers I have provided are for "like new" soles. I hope I have been of some help. If in doubt, go for it! Amazon is GREAT with returns. Answer:	Theoretically, they are neither. They are officially listed as an alloy safety toe. Timberland states that alloy was used to reduce weight. They don't, however, state how the strength of the alloy compares to steel. It may be out there somewhere, but I did not run across it. I was able to justify wearing these boots for work because alloy is basically steel with a few other elements mixed in to enhance steel's properties.

Answer:	I would have to say 1 1/2 size difference. If a woman normally wears an 8 in women's, you should probably order 6.5 in these men's boots.

Answer:	No. People often order boots too small for some reason. I wear 10.5 wide in under armour running shoes and the same in timberlands. Timberlands fit me the same every time. Ive had about a dozen pairs in different styles and i always do 10.5 wide which is my shoe size and they always fit

Answer:	I can tell you from personal experience that these particular boots hold up better than the boots I used to purchase at the Red Wing store for $275.00. The Red Wings are comfortable and well built, but the leather is soft, it rips, and the soles wear down quickly. You can get them resoled but I never had the leather last long enough to warrant getting them resoled. I would get 9 months from a pair on average. One year I was low on funds and tried these Timberland PRO boots. It was a slow time in construction, so I wasn't wearing them 5 or 6 days a week 10 hours a day, but they lasted me three years. I bought a second pair, wore them daily, and got 18 months out of them. They were beat looking but still comfortable with some tread left. I'd say these boots are easily good for a year, 10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. Invest in toe guards if you want to get the most life out of these boots, especially if you kneel a lot or rest things on the toe for leverage.

Both soles cracked completely through at the balls of my feet. This was after about 6 months of usage - it's not like I stress the shoes in anyway - I just walk around on concrete. I submitted a warranty claim to Timberland (all the paperwork and photos required - it was like a timewarp back to the 1980s - fill out this form, answer these questions, provide photographic proof, and submit a receipt :)) and they rejected it because my Amazon purchase was through an "unauthorized seller." I have a pair of Keen Utility work shoes now - more $, hoping they will hold up.

Answer:	They are composite toe, not steel. I have to go thru a metal detector for work. These do not set it off.

Answer:	I work the night shift during the winters in the Pacific Northwest for the DOT. My Boondocks are very warm and dry for sure. So warm in fact that I only wear them on the coldest nights on the pass. Mine have 400 gms of insulation, and that's probably too much for me. My next pair will either have 200, or none at all. They have the best insoles for standing for long durations, so I'll definitely order some for the summer.

Answer:	I used to wear timberland pro 6" pit boss boots. These are a lot more comfortable at the end of a 9hr shift working on concrete floor.

Answer:	I can only speak for the Direct Attach vs Resistor. Direct Attach is steel toe, Resistor is composite toe. Steel toe seems smaller and less roomy, so I order my Direct Attach boots 1/2 size larger (12 vs 11.5).

Answer:	I work in a welding shop all year round so EVERYTHING i wear is warm in the summer.I've had 6 pairs of this same boot over the last 12 years the winter time is the worst for me. My feet are never cold though, can't say they don't get warm in the summer but it comes with the territory.Will be ordering another pair at the of the year though this time i'm going to try the safety composite toe.

Answer:	It has to do with the width. Medium is M wide is E. Sometimes there is EE or EEEThese timberland shoes are OK and a bit cheaper than Timberland shoes from Timberland directly. I found that There are different grades of timberland. To get the best timberland shoes at premium prices, buy direct from a timberland store. Amazon Timberland shoes are medium quality and do the job. They last 1/2 to a full year in construction and are $20-$30 less than premium Timberland work boots. If you are going to ruin them in several months it does not pay to get the premium ones. If you wear them around the house or out then I would get premium Timberland's direct. They will look and feel better. The inside is real leather rather than the material.It is a personal preference. Since the people making Amazon Timberlands are not as good as the premium Timberlands, make sure you check the size and fit when you get them. I received a size 13 in a box marked 11.5.
Question:	do these shoes meet the ATSM standards
Answer:	Waterproof ProtectionMichelle, as with any leather boot the waterproofing is probably only going to be maintained if you treat the leather with the recommended waterproofing product. I believe the tongue is connected a ways up which would help repel water coming in near the laces. I would not expect them to be as waterproof as a rubber boot but I do wear them in the snow and rain without an issue. I didn't treat mine so the water will saturate the leather a little, I expect that if you keep up with the water repelant treatment you would do much better. THis is what the boot description says "Seam-sealed waterproof leathers cause liquid to bead up and shed from the surface, providing durable, long-lasting waterproof protection". I really do like these boots and they are the ones that I have purchased for work and around my home for the last 5 or 6 years. Hope this helps , I wouldnt stand in a puddle all day with these boots but I think if you found yourself in a consruction site with mud and puddles you would probably be in good shape, the more you care for and clean the boots the longer they will perform. Most of all these boots are comfortable from day one .

Answer:	I cannot tell you for sure. I believe the boots I received were NOT authentic Timberlands. Everything about them did not meet my expectations of a work boot or of a name brand like Timberland. No, the sole was not stiff.

Answer:	Fabulous boots. Last almost forever. Experience with oil is limited, but I would be concerned that a bath of oil over time would dissolve the contact cement that holds the tread of the boot to the bottom of the sole. This may be a question for Timberland customer service. More casual amounts of oil, I can't see being a problem.
Question:	Do they run bigger than your Normal size... Like for example ? if i wear a size 9.5 do i need to get a size
Answer:	they probably are not "fitted" for flat feet. i would think for " average " feet. i have " flatish " feet, although the boots are not uncomfortable, i use a 3/4 insert to raise my heel slightly and support my arch. i do this with ALL my work boots. the 3/4 length insert will not crowd my toes. i wear boots 8-10 hours a day , 7 days a week. hope this helps

These boots defined our brand. They were so groundbreaking that in 1978 we renamed the entire company.
