Question:	Do these pants have a permenant crease
Answer:	I did NOT want a crease...so what I did was...when the pants arrived, I washed, fluffed for 5 mins in dryer, hung to dry...then...sprayed heavily with a spray bottle of water and ironed them flat...hard. This virtually took out the crease...such that now...when I was, I simply fluff in dryer for 5 mins and hang to dry...no ironing necessary.

Answer:	They won't shrink after washing if you care for them properly. The definition of care-for-them-properly is: Wash in COLD water only. Do NOT tumble dry, not even low temperature otherwise you will see at least some shrinkage. Instead, hang dry (I used skirt hangers to hang them dry) or lie them down flat on a drying rack.
Question:	how roomy are the pockets
Answer:	Back pockets are normal size, front pockets are tiny. They are shallow and come to a point. I can barely get each of my hands into the empty left and right front pockets, so it is hard to get anything out of the pockets. I try to carry a notebook in the front left pocket and it barely fits, but then it is hard to get it back out since it fits snugly under the waistband. The notebook is 6x4.25x.75 inches. For this reason alone I will not buy any more Dickieds unless I can check the pockets beforehand. It's too bad, because the pants fit great and look sharp.

Answer:	Brian, I'm not sure what you mean that a waist of 44" should equals an inseam of 40". Unless you are 7 feet or taller your inseam should in the 40" range. But if you are in the 6' range then your inseam should be in the 30 to 34" range. Your waist size does not have anything to do with your inseam. You may need to re-measure your inseam. There are links online that will show you how to do it. But if you do have an inseam of 40" you may have to go to a big and tall men shop. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The waist is true to size, but I will say that the hips & seat, like other Wrangler's I've purchased, is not very roomy.

They are called "Authentics", which are different than the relaxed fit jeans that are labeled "Relax Fit" at Walmart. My husband found the Amazon version shorter in the crotch. We're sending them back.

I don't think this style will be a problem...however, you may want to change the inseam's length slightly so that the back to the pants are not catching under your heels. That was an issue for a pair I bought for my son before.

Answer:	Without knowing how large thighs and calves you have, I am a large man with above average thighs and calves these have fit me fine. Buy them and if they don't fit the return policy is great. I like the pants.

Answer:	They are called "Straight Leg", but I think I might know what you're driving at. In virtually all other pants made for big guys, the circumference of the material around the thighs starts big where it meets the seat of the pants, but stays that way with very little reduction in size as it goes down the leg. So, a big guy looks like he's wearing a tent around his legs. It looks ridiculous, and it's embarrassing! These pants, on the other hand, are intelligently designed so that the circumference of the thigh material quickly reduces down to normal human size. So, in that regard, yes, they are tapered. The result for me is that I don't have gobs of extra room around the thighs that I don't need. It translates to more comfort and a much better, neater look - virtually tailored for the wearer. Even though my legs are certainly bigger than the average bear, there is adequate room for motion without binding, and the stretch of the fabric makes it that much more comfortable when sitting, kneeling or crouching.
