Answer:	You do have to remove the lid to drink from but I think that you can order another sip-type lid that will fit this canteen. For what I use it for, I don't mind unscrewing but my kids prefer a more accessible type lid.

Answer:	I bought the 32 ounce and gave it as a gift. While I don’t know the weight, as is any good thermos, It is somewhat heavy and too large to hold for any length of time. . It isn’t something you would carry on a walk.
