Back pocket: 8 1/2" wide by 4 1/4" tall.TIP: I'm very cautious, so, while wearing it daily during 2-week trip, I safety pinned the elastic band by the closure clip, stretching/pulling it over the closure clip, and pinning it down on the cloth on other side of the clip. This ensures you don't 'accidentally' unclip it while wearing the waist wallet. And, to remove from my body, its a very stretchy elastic waist band, so I'd just pull it all the way down to my feet and step out of it...that way I didn't have to pin-unpin every day; then reverse to put it on, by stepping into it, and pulling it up to your waist. Answer:	there are no side pockets. the first (front) pocket is great for a single key and change. The 2nd pocket easily holds my cell, a small note book, business cards etc. there is a "hidden" pocket there...the 3rd pocket holds all my stuff...wallet, pens, breath mints, glasses, etc....there is a second "hidden" pocket there...the last pocket holds coupons, notes. etc etc. I have had a great number of these waist Packs over the years. For the money and usefulness, I think it is great!
