Answer:	I'm estimating here as don't have anything to weigh it, feels lighter than my block of butter so would say less than 1lb. It's a good umbrella for a cheap one.

Answer:	I bought three of these umbrellas and thought that they were defective because if you fail to open the velcro clasp that holds it closed, it will not extend. Once the clasp is unfastened, it extends into a full umbrella with the press of a button. One hand operation to open. Surprisingly, when open, if you press the button the umbrella collapses. But then you need to push it back into the closed position. Pretty cool.
