| Answer: | The smaller size does. The larger size does not. The smaller (6x14 in) has a great strap. It easily wraps around my waist and the Velcro holds well. I can actually walk around and do things with the ice pack on my lower back. It also stays very cold for a long time. I've owned several ice packs and this is my best investment thus far. The Cryomax is also good (stays cold a good while) but the strap is not as good and the quality isn't there. It gets too stiff, as opposed to The Coldest, which is great for wrapping because it stays soft, even thought it's freezing cold! Search Amazon for "The Coldest," and you should be able to find the one with the strap. |

| Answer: | It is 11 3/4 X 15 1/2 inches. 1/2 inch thick. It is seamed in three equal sections 5 X 11 3/4 inches to allow contour wrapping. Bonus is it folds up so it fits in the freezer easier! Very happy and think it's the best cold pack ever! |

I wrapped up in the blanket and crawled in the sleeping bag. I stayed reasonably warm. My feet slipped out at the bottom and there was a noticeable difference. This blanket is well worth the price and consideration. Though I'd pair it with another wool blanket or a sleeping bag for anything under 30. Hope this helps. |

| Answer: | That "Chemical smell" is the lanolin in the wool. If it doesn't smell it's not really wool, it's acrylic. if you want something that performs like will you got to put up with the smell. |

And I like sleeping cold. Wildy misleading description. I would only add about 10 degrees, so with it and your sleeping bag maybe 20. |

| Answer: | These blankets go by many names but they are often refered to as "Casualty Blankets" ... They are similar, in weight, to a medium-thickness of poly-tarp and they have brass grommets (reinforced tie-holes) in each of the 4 corners. They are metalized (foil clad) on one side and reflect heat from a human body or from a camp-fire (onto a thermal "victim") ... These blankets are fairly durable and are frequently hung in diamond or lean-to configuration to shed rain (and dew) and to block wind and reflect camp-fire heat onto the single occupant, to thwart hypothermia at moderate temperatures. They are not magical and they do not do much good below about 55 degrees Fahrenheit and below 48'F they are "fairly useless" BUT they are better than nothing and, in conjunction with a small fire, they can save your life ... In short, they can add a few degrees of comfort and help, with very little pack-weight penalty ... They also make a good ground-cloth, especially under a sleep matt, to prevent thermal loss into the ground. They are reusable and, if cared for, they can be rolled up inside your sleep pad and will last for an entire season, of even longer. Rothco is only one source for these and most all of them are about the same. SOME are NOT "mil-spec" so I would be looking for USGI MIL-SPEC in the description. |
