Answer:	I've used it as a weekend bag a few times; just two sets of clothes and pj's, and only the necessary toiletries... If you're pro at packing, you can def make it work.. That outer punch can hold a pretty decent amount too and you can pull a medium weight jacket through the carrying loop on top as well. Plus it's super durable (I've had it for 9 months and I use it daily for school and work and still looks new - no snags or discoloring).

Answer:	The women's is a tiny bit smaller (not really noticeable). The women's Recon backpack is 28 liter, the men's is 29 liter. The women's straps are also different (size & shape specific for women/"smaller frames") "Women-specific fit is tailored for a smaller frame and the Chemise back panel is soft against exposed skin." And it actually is. I thought the back panel might be too hot or sweaty, but it wasn't. I just took mine (my women's TNF Recon backpack) to Comic Con and it was great, so comfortable, great for carrying a lot or a little, for a long period of time, and in hot tempurtures. I love this backpack & highly recommend it.

Question:	Will the straps fit an adult
Answer:	Well, I guess it depends on what he will use it for. If its for school (books, folders, binders, etc) then yes, I think it would be too small. If its just for hauling toys/electronics to Grandma's or wherever, then I think he could get away with it. For reference, I bought this for my small-ish 4 year old to use for pre-school and its a good size for him.

Answer:	I’m not sure what you’re asking? It has a padded back pad - the exterior has that mesh pocket that can be used
Question:	Would this bag be too small for my 9 year old 4th grader
Answer:	Depends on the waterbottle size. I carry two 16oz containers, a makeup style bag, glasses (with hard case), sun glasses (with hard case) kindle, a couple odd items in the front pouch. Very doubtfull 2 water bottles and a pair of regular style sneakers can fit in here. It is a 12L volume sized bag.
Question:	Does this have an external drop pocket on the front of the back that is functional or is it sewed closed and not usable
Answer:	To small for school, could fit a smaller tablet and a couple of small books. Nothing full size. My daughter has the larger black with gold one. That one would be what you want for school. I use mine for work. Just like a purse. Hope this helps you out:)
