So you would have to expand your rough opening slightly. As you mention, this generally just means trimming some drywall, but most likely you'd have to do that anyway if you wanted to fit a standard product. In some instances, there are 2x4s limiting your opening, but those two can be modified fairly easily with sanding, chiseling, or other methods.
