Question:	Is the tail supposed to wag on it's own when the dog says watch my tail wag
Answer:	The tail on the pup is not mechanical it's rubber, that wags when the pup is pulled .. It wags the same at all times when pulled ...and not differently when it says " watch my tail wag " .. It's a wonderful toy ! Great quality and takes a good beating from a toddler .. Cute and teaches we'll .. Not a overly loud and not annoying at alll .. Good noise volume . Also comes in two differnt colours for boy or girl . I would definatelly recommend for a toy or gift . My daughter loves hers and using still at two and thought she would outgrow it .. Now that we are starting to lean alphabet .. She enjoys it even more. The rubber ( very good quality rubber ) wags due to two of the pups feet being oval and two being round .. Answer:	There is no adjustment on string. It is attached to the dog. Not very long string so I added additional string so our very small grandchild can pull it. She loves this toy.
