From what I've read, unless you're adding it at the end of a hot cooking process, the qualities of the oil won't survive saponification, except for the ability to make great lather. For what it's worth, this is the BEST price I've seen for it. I just paid $5 for 2 little jars totaling less than 4 oz by weight. That was at my local Walmart.
