About the Series

The LeapStart Learn to Read series includes two volumes of books, each including six different stories like “A Bag for Sam” and “Mole to the Rescue”. This interactive series grows with your child from preschool to first grade.

Words in This Story

At the beginning of each book, kids will be introduced to all the new words they’ll find in the story, similar to classroom pre-reading activities.

Stories for Early Readers

Each cute story in volume one focuses on short or long vowels and builds upon the phonics principles from the previous book.

Say It

Use the stylus to tap the words in the stories and the LeapPad will say each word out loud.

Sound It

Touch each letter in a word using the stylus to hear the LeapPad sound out each word.

Spell It

Learn to spell by touching the stylus to each letter in a word to hear the LeapPad say the name of the letter.
