With a popsocket the phone will lean forward. Fortunately, the stand can open to about 100°. That more than the square corner on a book (90°). Therefore the phone can stay in the stand if the popsocket is no more than 2" high from the back. Go for it if your popsocket is close to that size. The stand is well built and holds the phone easily. I really like it.
