Answer:	The connectors 2x are 1/4" TRS. They are mono by nature and I only run mine with mono, every week.TRS can also (with the correct splitters on the ends of them) be used to run stereo (but I don't recommend it). TRS 1/4" not properly shielded or grounded can very easily bleed...

Answer:	Balanced means 2 signals sent by 2 cables apart from ground. The adaptor shown is Xlr to stereo 1/4 plug which maintains the 2 signals apart from ground. It can be used to plug a male 1/4" balanced cable .
