You set the maximum capacity of the charger when you configure it on the ChargePoint amp. EVs only draw the amount they are capable of charging at - so 9.6 Kw for most EVs except Teslas (240 V times 40 amps) New Teslas can draw above 50 amps, so that is what the max setting on the app does - it limits the safe output to the circuit capacity. There is no manual switch on the charger, it is all set through the app. |

So while this cable is capable of drawing more amps, the 2015 Chevy Volt will only draw 13.5 plus or minus. Looks like your limited to 8 or 12 (13.5) amps. The 2019s are upgraded with a charger that utilize the 32amps. |

Heavy Duty models exist, but this will often just result in wearing down the pins of the plug on the charging cable. Also note a 50A switch is different than a breaker. Do not use any breaker to regularly remove power except when its circuit is being maintained. Breakers are easily broken by such repeat use. For its part, the Mustart has delicate electronics to respond to the request of the car. Leaving it plugged in leaves it exposed to transient power surges in your local neighborhood, such as lightning strikes. Answer: | The fusion energi has a ridiculously small range.. With that said it would charge by 2018 volt battery in about 3 hours, which gave me about 58 real world miles. I would expect if your fusion on board charge controller allows for level 2 charging and you are using 240v it would be even faster than that. I would not recommend this product though, I sent mine back because it was Not charging the battery efficiently and reducing my overall mileage ( only getting half charge). This is not a quality product and I wouldn't waste your time and money on it. |

Answer: | If you continue to charge at Level 1 (standard 120V outlet), the Volt's internal charger and software will only allow you to pull a maximum of 12A. So your charge time will not change. The limitation on L1 charging is internal to the vehicle, not to the EVSE cordset. If you switch to level 2 (the dryer outlet style plug), the charge time will depend on the capacity of the circuit and the car's charging speed. Your Volt will only allow charging at 3.3 kW speed (which is fine given the relatively small battery), so your complete charge would take 4-5 hours depending mostly on outside temperature. |

Answer: | We started using this outdoors (no garage or carport) in October and we live in Seattle where it rains a lot. The plug has a cap to protect it from water, but I read somewhere that the cap isn’t even necessary. Whether it works in freezing temperatures is yet to be determined, but we’ll soon find out. I will try to update this answer in a month or so. We sometimes get faults, but it may have nothing to do with being outdoors. It happens so seldom and you merely have to unplug and re plug at the wall outlet. We’re very happy with this product so far. |

Answer: | If you mean 'horizontal' to be landscape vs portrait positions, the answer is yes. There is a small charging point for wireless charging capable iPods (gen2), but its too small and low power to charge the phone on a flat position. |
Question: | This says 2.4 amps on all 6 ports but only 10 amps total. So if all 6 ports are occupied will it supply 2.4 amps to each or only 1.66 amps to each |
Answer: | I tried to turn off the light and it does not work, of course I charge my devices while sleeping. Is there something special you have to do to turn it off. Thanks |
