Exercise: Lowercase f

When it comes to the lowercase f, we have a combination of an ascender loop and descender loop combined in one stroke; however, the descender loop is reversed and drawn on the right side of the downstroke, not the left.

1. I often draw my letter f with the entrance stroke as an integral part of a diagonal upstroke to create that ascender loop, but you can also draw them separately.

2. There are many variations of the height of the letter f and its extension below the baseline. Usually, my f does not reach the cap line, and the top of the ascender loop is between the waistline and the cap line. Similarly, my descender loop part of the f does not quite reach the descender line either.

3. When the reverse descender loop comes back up, I draw it to meet the downstroke at the baseline.

4. Then, I exit with a light upstroke to the right.
