Answer: | I'll do the best I can without photos. One side has two pins. That is the pushbutton +&- (positive & ground). simple What's hard is the 3 pin side. A, C, B (left, center, right). A connects to CLK (GPIO pin) directly, and is also connected to a + bus via a 330Ohm resistor B connects to DT (GPIO pin) directly & is also connected to the + bus via 330Ohm resistor C connects directly to ground So you have two wires going to ground (one on each side), the remaining 2 pins on the 3 pin side going to GPIO pins & a +(GPIO pin) connected to a bus supporting the CLK & DT pins. The remaining pin on the 2 pin side goes to a GPIO pin for the pushbutton switch (thus 3 GPIO pins). The diagram makes it so much easier (sad face) regardless, you still need some code to make it work. Really interesting that there is no electronics or logic in the rotary encoder. Just good old analog contacts managed by code. |
