Question: | What does frustration free packaging mean |
Answer: | this link describes their "frustration free packaging" http://www.amazon.com/b/?&node=5521637011&ref=spks_0_0_1883747602&qid=1447197646&pf_rd_p=1883747602&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_s=desktop-auto-sparkle&pf_rd_r=0AMG66EK04ETDPFX0WM3&pf_rd_i=frustration+free+packaging |
Question: | Can the pieces be taken apart to build something new or can you only build just one project |
Answer: | Yes, they snap together and can easily be taken apart (assuming they aren't excessively abused) |
Question: | Does the SC-300 come with the red fan and motor that is shown in the 100 kit?? Thank you in advance |
Answer: | yes! My two 8 year old grandboys, gravitated to this kit and both became competent with 24 hours. The experimented and created their own complex circuitry. They even 'invented' some unlikely ways to use the components. For example, the red fan blade became a helicopter blade that whirled off the motor and across the room. With a little organizational control and introduction from an organized adult, they followed the rules and quickly adapted to taking turns and encouraging each other. I was very surprised and pleased by the way they accepted the challenges and commanded the concept of using and controlling the flow of e- to do work. |
Question: | Would a 9 year old girl like this |
Answer: | My 9 year old daughter got the 40 project one for a birthday present and wasn't excited. Then on a rainy day she took it out and did all 40 and was so excited! Now she wants this set. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Where can I find new directions? We seem to have lost ours |
Answer: | Good luck finding any support of help with the EUDAX School Physics Labs kit. The website and email they list for support are fake or turned off and the other support processes they list in their written materials do not work as well. I needed information on some of the parts that were not listed in the instructions and tried for months to get a response. I do NOT recommend this product. |
Question: | I just received this today. my son is enjoying it. however, the solar panel piece came broken. how can i contact eudax diretcly to replace it |
Answer: | Good luck-I had a similar problem with a broken component and have tried since April of 2020 to get a response from them. Email, phone, letters all had no reponse. I do NOT recommend this kit becasue of this issue and the very poorly translated, innacurate and incomplete instructions. I would return the kit and buy from one of the more reputable suppliers with an actual web site-not a fake one like Eudax. As an alternative, you can purchase a small similar solar panel on Amazon for a few bucks and recycle the broken one. |
Question: | Is there a parent or teachers guide that explains the concepts in more detail for each of the experiments |
Answer: | Yes it has a teacher's guide that explains the experiments. I used it in a physical science class on electricity. Students had a great time trying different configurations of circuits, |
Question: | How does multifunctioal car work |
Answer: | The car is just a permanent magnet with wheels, you can make the car go forward or backwards by taking another magnet (from the kit) and putting it close to the car/magnet. Equal poles (S-S or N-N) repel making the car/magnet go forward (away from you), different poles (S-N or N-S) attract making the car/magnet go backwards (towards you). You can accomplish this also with the included electromagnet, when the electromagnet is off you can get it close to the car/magnet, then you turn on the electromagnet (with one of the included switches and a battery) to see the car/magnet move away or towards the electromagnet depending on how you connected the polarity of the battery ( +/- or -/+ ). Hope this helps !! |

User questions & answers
Question: | year old |
Answer: | I am not sure if you are asking whether or not this is a good present for a 6 year old or not. But, my son is 6 years old and he absolutely LOVES this set. His 13 year old sister actually likes playing with it as well. We are so impressed with it, that when he is complete with all of the projects, we are considering getting one of the more elaborate sets. If anyone has a 6 year old boy interested in this type of stuff, I recommend getting a set. |
Question: | Should i start my almost 6 year old with this set or with the SC-300 (I have a consignment store bought one in my closet)? Does the "junior" matter |
Answer: | I bought my 7 year old the jr and now wish I had opted for a bigger set. If you already have the 300, I would use that one. They sell an upgrade kit that takes the jr to a 300, so if you bought the jr and then gave the 300 to your child, you'd be duplicating half the kit. |
Question: | I see mostly children ages 5-7 are getting this. Do you think a 12 yr old would appreciate this |
Answer: | My kids are 10 & 12. They Love it! Plus it has upgrades to keep them happy when they get through the lesson book. Personally, I would not get this for a 5-7 yr old....it's electricity...no matter how safe they've made it. |
Question: | years old |
Answer: | I bought it for my (advanced) 5 year old son. He loves it. I helped him with the first 2 projects and then after that I let him build each one and would show him if he made a mistake and how to correct it. You will definately have to explain to them what is going on though because they are too young to understand that from the manual themselves. Otherwise the parts snap together really well, the instructions aren't that hard and after each project, he likes to move parts around to see what changes. |

What's New in Make Electronics - 2nd Edition
'While there are some things that have barely changed at all', says author Charles Platt, others are significantly different in this edition. The new visuals are undoubtedly the thing that readers will notice first. There's color on every page now, with over 350 images.
'A new simplified section provides detailed advice on Internet searches and purchasing components', Charles says. 'I think it's a lot easier to understand than the first book, but it's still completely hands-on. Every other book on electronics starts with theory, but I start with putting a battery on your tongue-just as with the original book.'
