Answer:	Read the instructions that come with it.

Answer:	Mine was shipped the same way. I have definite answer other than appearance and feel. I started honing and then swapped and got a fine edge.
Question:	How do you know which side has the 300 grit and which side has the 600 grit
Answer:	Depends on the type of flower I suppose, but I put 5 roses in each with plenty of room for more. The opening is 3.5” in diameter if that helps.
Question:	How do you figure out which side is which grit? Seems like the 90 degree side is all 300 and the 45 degree side is all 600. True
