I, at this point, just want a refund. Hopefully, Amazon will be easier to deal with than this particular seller moving forward. Apparently, the size of the chair is a big obstacle for the seller when it comes to returning it. I'll let you know how things turn out.

Question:	do the foot rest and back rest recline independently
Answer:	We have 2 different chairs. The newer chair has 2 motors so feet go up with 1 control and back goes down with another control. But, the first lift chair we bought have a up and down, so when you put feet up the back goes down. I just had a mishap 5 days ago and broke my foot and hurt the opposite knee. Am using the one with 1 motor, it can be challenging and difficult. I need to elevate legs but don't want to always go back.

This item has one motor - the control has two buttons; if the "down" button is held in, the chair will move from its current position back to fully reclined, and incrementally position along the way.
