Answer:	There are 2 very small Phillips head screw on the magnified side of the rim where it meets the base. Remove both (while it's flat with the magnified side up) and the magnified half slides off, exposing the bulb. The bulb simply unscrews. It's a 30W (max) Type T incandescent bulb. Mine burned out very quickly, so I replaced it with an LED unit. Way brighter and will last 10,000+ hours.

Then unscrew and remove knurled thumb screws from opposite of the mirror housing near the rotating hinges. Question:	I dont have good lighting around my vanity, this would be about my only source of light. Will this be bright enough for me to see when applying makeup
Answer:	Just replace the 20W incandescent bulb and you can have it as bright as you want it. It uses a standard E12 candelabra base bulb which is super easy to replace. Go to home depot, get an LED replacement bulb in a "daylight" color range. Remove the two tiny screws on the sides, open the mirror, replace the bulb with a 60W or 75W equivalent bulb (which runs at 10-12 watts) and voila...light galore! Bonus! New LED bulbs will last a decade or more...mirror will be passe before the bulb goes bad. By the time the bulb burns out, robots will be doing your makeup for you.

Answer:	The bulb is replaceable but hard to find. It costs approximately 28.00 and the one i found had a strange tint and not as bright. So, basically, you should purchase this item knowing that you will have to throw it away when the bulb goes out because no one sells them

The light is natural - like sunlight; not yellowish or bright white. It is also not extremely bright. I have had several makeup mirrors - the last one was extremely bright and got very hot. I'd go out and look in the mirror and my makeup was completely different.
