Answer:	I have cleaned my foundation sponge with it though since I am a really clean I like to follow up with an antibacterial soap. If you want to wash with just the shampoo I highly suggest using hot water first on the sponge and leave it for a few seconds to loosen up the makeup.

Answer:	They are definitely synthetic. It's a decent set of brushes (I love the eyeshadow brushes) but after extended use the powder and bronzer brush tend to shed a lot. Pretty good for synthetic, though.

Answer:	I’d go with a silicone spatula brush for applying masks. Super easy to clean up and no wasted product :)

Answer:	No. It is soft and fluffy, perfect for loose or pressed powders for dusting or setting your face....I wouod recommend the wet and wild stipling brush...more dense....but I personally use a (beauty blender style) sponge. The Loreal pink sponge or the eco tools green sponge are awesome and are bith priced at less than $10. Hope this helps...
