Answer:	It should work, if cleaned and then placed in a sealed bag with possibly 2 of the strips. If using a plastic bag, first wrap the item in a thin cloth, do not let plastic touch surface of the silver article, it will leave marks.

Answer:	Recoiled: it is in a "U" shape as it is attached to my net and the magnet on my vest, and is about 6 inches. When extended it is probably capable of stretching 8 feet, so a lot longer than you'll ever be able to reach. I have plenty of extension with the tether attached to the middle of my back, and my arm fully extended in front of me. ( a size 36" inch sleeve length, is what I usually wear).
