From my limited knowledge of chemistry, all of the chemicals look as if they are mineral or plant based. I do not spot any specific byproduct from an animal. Of course, again, I am not truly a scientist and I do believe the manufacturer would be able to adequately and accurately assure you one way or the other. I will recommend these. When you rub it against the skin, the dissolved fiber gets formed into little balls with dead skin cells. Since it exfoliates the dead skin cells and sebum in the skin, it prevents acne/pimples.
