The smell should be very light and does dissipate rather quickly. We are developing some products with a light natural fragrance because quite a few people have asked for it. But we found that most people with damaged, sensitive skin can't handle fragrances, even essential oils. I think this cream would be fine for night time also as it is so natural. I usually don't use any cream at night, just wash, pat dry and let my face breathe all night. But, that's just me.
