Answer:	Hello, without rug pads the rug breaks down more quickly. Dirt also travels through the rug and underneath it to the top of the rug pad. The elevation isn't much based on the comfort under foot, the extra warmth it provides if you live in a cold area and the better care for a rug. I used to not buy rug pads because I was frugal (or cheap!), but after wearing out a favorite rug I decided for pads. Hope this helps. These are good ones; the old ones used to be animal hair etc.

How to Care the hair

1. Detangle the hair gently with your fingers before washing. Don’t rub or twist the hair.
2. Add mild shampoo to cool water and soak the hair till clean. Use clean water to rinse the hair thoroughly.
3. Apply conditioner from the top to ends and sit for several minutes, if meets tangling, do it for 30 minutes.
4. Rinse the conditioner out with warm water.
5. Gently squeeze out excess water with a towel, let the hair dry naturally, do not hang up.
