To do this, use a sharp blade to cut around the insulation of each end of the wire (perpendicular to the wire) approx half an inch. Be gentle or riser you'll cut the wire inside the insulation. Once you have bare wire on each side, simply twist the two ends together. You may add a drop of super glue to help hold the wire (I usually don't). Wrap the splice with electric tape to prevent the wires from being exposed. If the wire partially torn, you can cut out the bad section and splice it back together.
