I thought that they all had luminescent bezels but I am not sure about the jeweled bearing, on the needle. It has been a long time since I read all the spcs on this thing. I recently was at REI and was checking out the compasses and I would still make the same choice, and go with the MC-2. It is about good as anthing around and probably as accurate, in the right hands.
