Answer: It can be hung or mounted.
Question: What is the expiration of this bird feed? Will it keep to Christmas
Answer: Yes they could. They like black oil sunflower seeds. Another feeder type you could look into is a suet feeder. Woodpeckers love suet cakes!
Question: How can a 20 lb bag (description) have an 18 lb shipping weight (details
Answer: Bent does not sound like how mine is, an oval as pictured in the product description. And it is just like my first one of these feeders.
Question: Why does Wagner's 25-pound bag cost $25 and this 40-pound bag cost
Answer: As of September 2018, the feeders Amazon sends have a redesigned base. The bottom is no longer just cast metal. It is now plastic and cast metal. Also, if you use the threaded part of the bottom, to attach to a pole or for a tray, it is now just a single thread, not threaded several turns. It does not hold well. I do not like the redesigned base at all.

Question: Can you plant these seeds and grow sunflowers
Answer: Yes, it comes in two boxes.
Question: how was this item shipped ? ups ? usps
Answer: Ours is sitting in the garage up against a wall. It's level and pretty sturdy. You could probably attach some sort of bracket that loops through the cage wire and use screws to attach to a house. There is no bottom. Ours sits on concrete floor. Bungee cords attach easily through the wiring. We use those to attach the auto feeder to the wire so the cats don't try to play with it.
Question: Are theses seeds cleaned
Answer: Not easily
Question: Why does it say that these are not for pet birds? How are they different from the striped ones that can be found in lovebird feed
Answer: make a kitty tunnel between the 2. just cut enough wire of the 2, to place the tunnel

Question: Why has this price increased so dramatically
Answer: There were more sunflower seeds then red Milo in my bags. I have no idea what percentage of each seed is in the mix. My birds love this stuff! the doves love the sunflower seeds and the finches, orioles and other birds like this mix.
Question: How do i cancel this order
Answer: YES! it has sunflower seed, cracked corn and peanut pieces in addition to TEN other kinds of seed. I use squirrel proof feeders for the birds and seperate feeders for the squirrels with sunflower and peanuts and peanut butter. (which the birds eat too ) ALL of the birds here in central Virginia LOVE this blend and there is no waste.
Question: We are using this for a class project. i checked the ingredient list, but wanted to make sure... this is nut free, correct
Answer: I just called Wagner customer service (516-933-6580) and asked whether the Greatest Variety product contains any artificial dyes. The rep said No, that their products do not have artificial dyes. She said that the red is the natural color of that particular seed. The red color is helpful in attracting birds.Update: Well, I received the birdfood and looked at the ingredients. The last ingredient item is "Artificial color."
Question: Does this seed cause crazy grass growth where the seed falls
Answer: I've never deliberatly planted these seeds, this product is for feeding wild birds and is a very good mix. that said, birds and squirrels being who they are, some seed does get scattered on the ground and does sprout, I've had a few sunflowers come up and bloom, but most is just grassy stuff, I don't think you can plan on a crop

User questions & answers

Question: Will these seeds be too small for a wire-screened black-oil sunflower seed feeder? I usually fill the feeder with the whole black-oil sunflower seed
Answer: Drill Yankees does make a thistle version of this feeder with different ports. You might have to buy it directly from them. This one will not work with thistle.
Question: Are these black oil sunflower kernels
Answer: They are part of the seed ports. Very nice feeder.
Question: Pesticides on them or no
Answer: Hi - you can use regular or mixed seed in this feeder. I use only sunflower seed, as I have a strong dislike of house sparrows and the regular feed attracts too many of them.Excellent feeder - very easy to dis-assemble and clean. Good luck.
Question: Does anyone know where these seeds are grown? China, USA, or elsewhere
Answer: The plastic tube of the Droll Yankees B7F is 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 20 inches tall. The 7 x 7 x 24 inches that is listed on the Droll Yankees site refers to the overall dimensions of the unit including perches and hanger wire. Essentially, that is the size of the shipping box.

Product features

Lyric Sunflower Kernels

Sunflower seeds are a songbird favorite and Lyric Sunflower Kernels will bring flocks to your feeders. These pre-shelled kernels avoid mess, save you money, and above all - birds love them! Enjoy the buntings, cardinals, chickadees, finches, flickers, grosbeaks, nuthatches, redpolls, titmice, towhees, woodpeckers, and more that will stop by for a treat.

Value at your Feeder - For you and your birds!

Songbirds enjoy delicious seeds that are easy for them to eat. Sunflower kernels save you time, avoiding any mess or weeds under your feeder. Additionally, pound for pound, buying kernels is a terrific value over purchasing whole seeds, where you are paying for the shell.

The Ingredient Birds Love

Sunflower kernels provide a high amount of fat and nutrients, making it a necessary snack for birds, especially in the cooler months of the year. Fill your feeder with this tasty snack this winter and you won’t have to wait long to see cardinals, finches, grosbeaks, woodpeckers, and many more gather for a snack!

Feeder Tips

Because Lyric Sunflower Kernels are made up of pre-hulled seeds, it is important to use a feeder that protects them from snow and rain. If these unshelled seeds get wet or damp, they will spoil quickly. Since kernels are fairly small in size, most feeders will work well with this feed.

User questions & answers

Question: Anyone know diff. between "indigo bunting" and the "blue finch
Answer: Mine came in a few days. It is, as I write this, late Spring, so maybe it is because of a shortage. I buy in Winter off-season and buy in bulk to avoid the Spring shortage.
Question: is nyger seed low-waste? Like, will the shells or remnants leave a mess
Answer: Have not tried the no mess, but the shell free is pretty good. I have a lot of sparrows and they do not like the cracked corn or millet seed so there is still some mess. It all depends on what types of birds you feed. Cardinals and doves clean up the mess the sparrows leave behind.
Question: how long is the seed good to put out
Answer: Yes, it contains millet, a considerable amount. It's a pretty balanced blend, though. I don't know the percentage, but millet is definitely in there.
Question: I know that this seed can go bad if not used within a certain amount of time. Can it be frozen to keep it's freshness
Answer: I don’t know because I was completely dissatisfied with the product and threw it out. More weeds than I could count sprouted from it.
