It's certainly not going to give you a close shave like a razor would, but it'll clean you up pretty good without pulling your hair. I've found that corded clippers like this are more consistent and powerful than their cordless counterparts, which means you have less "pull".

Answer:	For my nearly 70 year-old eyes, the improved lcd and especially the ev were worth it. I've been shooting an fz200 for a couple of years, really like it. But I'm almost shooting outside, nature photos, and especially while kayaking. LOTS of sun/glare, and the lcd was almost useless. The EV on the 200 is acceptable, but small and sometimes difficult to get right to the eye. The 300's lcd still won't stand up to very bright conditions, but the EV is far better. I also find the top dial control a substantial improvement on the back dial on the 200, which was tricky to handle with the left thumb, which is what it's positioned for. Pushing the back dial was the way to switch back and forth from aperture/shutter control and exposure compensation; the 300 has a separate function button for EC control. I'm very pleased with the improvements, and they were worth the money for me.

Answer:	You can, but I tried it today and found it a bit big and unwieldy--especially for getting at the mustache. Wahl makes something called a "Peanut," specifically for beard trimming. It has all the guard attachments and performance of a Wahl clipper, but it's about 1/4 the size (maybe 2" long and not quite 1" wide), so very good for precision use.

Answer:	There are two trimmer combs. One has a 1/4 inch (6mm) wide cutting surface, and the second one has a 1-3/8 inch (3.5 cm) cutting surface. The actual width of both combs is slightly wider, but those are the actual cutting widths. Hope that helps.

Answer:	No. It will not operate with the charger cord connected, whether the charger is connected to power or not. It is designed not to work with anything connected to the charging port. The trimmer comes with a "travel plug" that is a small piece of plastic that can be plugged into the charging connector that will keep the trimmer from being turned on accidentally during travel.I've had my trimmer for about 3 months. I use it a couple times a week for a couple minutes. I have not had to recharge it since the initial charge I gave it when I bought it.

Answer:	You can change the length of the cut based on the direction you use it. If you go with the hair grain, it will leave the length a bit longer than when you go against it. There is very little difference between using the #1 with the grain of the hair and the #2 going against the grain.
Question:	new or used? i see many complaints with hair on new machines
Answer:	Mine won't turn on most of the time. I keep trying over a day or so and suddenly it's on and I can use it. What's the point of paying to send it back to the USA from NZ when the risk is I'll get as a replacement one of the ones that don't turn off. The paperweight comment sums it up. There are far too many faulty ones out there just from the complaints on this site alone. In the 21C you expect nearly all examples of a product to work faultlessly and they do. But not this product.
