The honey extractor comes with 2 clear lids and has 2 handles on the side for easy carrying. The bottom inside of the drum is conical shaped and drains honey to the 2-inch outlet with stopper/honey gate. VIVO is proud to bring you this well built, large 2-frame extractor at an unbeatable price. The BEE-V002 will fit shallow, medium and deep frames (please note we updated the basket in Spring 2014 with more support for shallow frames). The metal gears are enclosed to keep them clean and free of honey. This VIVO extractor is also one of the few on the market that has a raised bottom bearing which helps keep it out of the extracted honey. The stainless steel has a beautiful polished mirrored finish on the outside (comes in protective wrap that will need removed). If the basket spins but clunks, it usually means the basket is out of line. This can easily be fixed.Secondly, the gears might be out of line. If the basket won't spin or spins hard, this usually means the gears are out of line. This can be fixed as well.Lastly, the extractor might be damaged or defective. Question:	is the honey gate removable and can it be replaced with the standard plastic version
Answer:	It looks as if it could be replaced with standard plastic version although the stainless one has worked fine it should have been placed lower. This is the only fault I have found with this spinner.

Answer:	No I thought it would but there's not enough support in the bottom to hold the frames up. You could add some more support and then yes I think it could

Answer:	I expected the gate to hinge up and away but it locks in place so that it hinges across the bottom. It is not terribly messy but seems like it would be more efficient in reverse.
Question:	Is a lot of honey wasted or stuck/left in the extractor
Answer:	Not really. I took a piece of bamboo about 4 feet long and put a spatula on the end of it, I use it to scrape the sides down. Then I tip the extractor over to get what is below the gate hole. Question:	How many gallons can the drum hold? I need to know for cleaning purposes
Answer:	I would say approximately 15 gallons. I keep drain open while extracting so the gears don't mess up with the honey holding resistance on frame rack inside. I let my bees clean it out after extracting and then rinse with water hose once bees are done. Been a great extractor so far.

Answer:	Not sure about any Vinyl extractor, but the 4-frame Vingli extractor I bought didn't start during initial setup until I realized that there is a safety switch that requires the lid to be attached and in place. If you look closely you'll see a small plastic button that must be depressed for the extractor to start. Otherwise, contact the manufacturer.
Question:	How high is the honey-gate? I'm using a metal mesh filter, need honey gate to be 16" above floor. Thanks

Question:	With the plastic lids attached and closed, the contact on the switch does not engage. How do I bypass the switch so the motor will run without them
Answer:	The nuts and bolts that hold the hinge to the steel motor assembly may have rattled loose. I just had that same problem, with the safety switches not closing properly. Tightening all 8 screws that hold the 4 hinges to the center frame fixed the problem.

Question:	I have the 4 frame unit and had it tip over. I broke one of the clear lids do you sell parts
Answer:	This is my suggestion to you. Save all of the broken pieces. Tape them together, Try to locate a business that sells "Plex-e-glass, take your broken lid there and ask them if they would cut you a piece of "Plex-e-glass" and drool all of he holes in it, using the broken lid/cover as the pattern. Bussiness that sell window glass may be your first place to contact. If you have the tools you could cut the piece of flex-e-glass if not have the company do ever thing for you.

Answer:	Don’t buy this. There support team sucks, If u have an issue they will keep Blowing u off so u can’t get anything fixed, Mine basket shaft was bent and they won’t replace it. I would look for a different company to buy from..

Question:	How easy is this to crank? How long did it take to extract two fames
Answer:	Pretty well constructed for the price. Was easy to turn but I may convert so that I can spin it with variable speed drill. 10 minutes at most to extract 2 frames as I reversed them after about 5 minutes. If frames are warm, about 80 degrees or so, honey flows out well.

Answer:	The fencing veil that looks U shaped, no. It comes only with the round veil attached to the hat as pictured. In bee school we were told you’re sure to get stung with the fencing veil because it collapses against your face. This one does not. Nice jacket and hood.

Answer:	I do mot know the sizes of you Layens frames. I use looked it up and do not think they will fit my extractor your frames are to deep

Answer:	I'm not sure as I can't get into the gear box. The unit works OK, not very well constructed. The lids did not fit right and the automatic shut off doesn't work. But it did extract the honey as it is supposed to. Hope this helps.
Question:	I purchased the 2 frame electric and my wife washed it. Now the basket does not reach the motor. Is there a bearing that fits into the basket base
Answer:	There should be a bearing that goes in the center of the container. The center post of the basket assembly rides on top of a bearing. If you’re not aware of it, it is easy to get lost during cleaning.

Question:	What gauge stainless steel is used for the body
Answer:	I don't know the actual gauge, but it is not thin and is adequate for its purpose. If I was to offer a comparison; It is as thick as a smooth sided 55 gallon drum.
Question:	is it a radial spinner
Answer:	From the photos, this is what is called a Tangential Extractor. The frames face outward and must be flipped around halfway through the extraction process to clear out both sides. For a Radial Extractor, the frames go in like spokes on a wheel and do not need to be flipped in order for both sides to be emptied. Typically radial extractors are larger (are build to hold more frames) and are more expensive.

Answer:	I didn't find this to be a problem really. It's loose but it never fell off when I was spinning my frames.
