Answer:	I would like to counter what Susan said, in that, I put one of the sharpest blades (Feather, Astra) in this razor and I did get cut regularly. To prevent cuts, I really had to focus on holding the razor at the right angle. The less sharp blades didn't cut me up as much. This is face shaving, so maybe it works differently from whatever (legs, maybe) kind of shaving Susan has experience with.

Once, I didn't check the tightness of the knurled end-knob controlling the "wings." When the blade began to feel like I was shaving with broken glass, I knew it was loose. One turn fixed it. I really like the thing and strongly prefer it to those "aerodynamic" contraptions whose expensive stack-blades seem to me to offer uneven quality. You only need one good blade.

Answer:	I think it is more about how gentle or aggressive you are. This was my first safety razor I've ever used and I've legit never had a better shave. As long as you shave with your hair patterns, no problem. Shave over a zit though and it's gone.

Answer:	A 5 pack of YingJiLi Blades come with the WEISHI but I didn't care for them. I was able to buy a 100 pack of good Blades online for about 6 -7 dollars. That's over a years worth for me.

Answer:	Here's my guess. It's to keep track of the side you've used. Shave 1 side, turn use 2, then flip blade over and repeat 3 and 4. Any blade edge will round over with use. Sharpening fixes that. I think that's how you can flip to other side and use again without sharpening. That's what I do anyway!

Answer:	The blades will rust if you leave it out in the shower. I am beginning to have difficulty twisting open the butterfly head, I assume because of rust as well. I plan to soak the whole thing in CLR and see if it helps.

Answer:	Both are quality built. Own both. First got and shaved with the Godfather. It's suppose to be more gentle on my 78yr old wrinkled skin. Previously been using the inexpensive Feather RE about $13. Using the included blade the Godfather cut me barely in many places. Not for me! Seriously trying to figure out why the cheaper Feather seldom to no cuts. Compared the blade space below to the guard bridge on Feather and Godfather. Big difference, Godfather much bigger gap. Just received the Chieftain. Compared to Godfather much narrower and similar to the Feather. IMHO, the Godfather butchered me. The Chieftain looks good. When my face heals I will cautiously try it. Until then the electric will have to do. It almost seems I got a defective Godfather of the blade was narrower, yes, it seems unlikely. BTW, I do not like the weight or bigger handle on the Godfather. Both tend to disallow light smooth handling! Others, likely, will disagree but that is my experience. Happy Trails

Answer:	I just purchased mine. As of 2020, this model Chieftan is different from the BAILI bd179. It's 10 grams heavier, has a thicker base plate, and has 4 lather holes on each side rather than 2 oblong ones. That's not to discount the BAILI at all. I just preferred the heftiness of the Viking. And you can get the "Odin Obsidian Black and Gold" for just a few dollars more as it's currently on sale.

Answer:	I tried to write about my blade piece being broken and was hoping I could get the piece replaced, but I must've asked in the wrong place on here. Answer:	Compared to the Merkur 34C, the Chieftain BC seems to have a little more blade presentation, but I've liked the Merkur from the start and I like this a lot too. Frankly both have a good size and weight and both are easy to handle. Both have really secure heads with heaviness compared to some others. I have a Van Der Hagen butterfly model and I like that too, but it tends to be a little more problematic and has a head which isn't as heavy as the former two.

Answer:	I don't work for Amazon so I can't answer that, but the Weishi razor is very low priced and you get a good quality razor no matter which one you buy. I got my son the gunmetal razor and it was so cool I almost kept it for myself. If you really need one there are several good choices until the rainbow is in stock again. I have no idea if anyone else makes one.

Answer:	I have not used other Parker. Razors but I don’t think this razor is aggressive. It has a nice weight and balance. Shaving is smooth and easy. I don’t use an aggressive blade I highly recommend it

Answer:	I don't know what the blade gap is, but it takes a standard double edge blade. For example, I use Personna Blue blades, and they come in a box of 100 for about $12.

Answer:	They seem like they are the same.

Answer:	After every shave, you open the razor by unscrewing the bottom of the razor and then clean the blade with hot water. While shaving, frequently run hot water over the razor, which will prevent the build of the shaving cream.

Answer:	The Vikings Blade Chieftain apparently was just a rebranded Baili BD179 at one time. That is not the case now, however. If you don't believe me, just go to the Damn Fine Shave forum and search on "Chieftain vs Baili". There is a thread there that shows a side by side comparison of the two razors. Some differences: - The Chieftain has more metal in the base of the head, and the guard bar on the Vikings blade extends down farther than that on the BD179. - The openings at the base of the head are two slots on each side for the BD179 vs. four holes for the Chieftain. - The Chieftain weighs more than the BD179. - The BD179 comes with a very useful plastic travel case. The Chieftain comes with a much fancier but more bulky case. - The BD179 is less than half the price of the Chieftain, as of this date $12.79 vs. $28.79. So quite similar, but not exactly the same.
