Of course, this Wahl replacement is more like 60% the cost of the shaver, but that brings us into the topic of 'supply and demand' and other aspects of advanced economics. While I am in no way defending this practice, it is also in no way unique to this razor, or even to the electric razor industry. - There are several lines of printers for which the replacement ink cartridges cost much more than the original printer. - The soda (pop, cola, coke, whatever you call it) served in most restaurants has between 3000-4000% markup. - Ever notice the prices for food in a movie theater or theme park? In short, this is how many industries make their profits. We can argue all we want about how much profit is enough profit (or too much profit), but the fact remains that economics is a complicated balance of worth vs perceived value. The important thing to remember is that the initial cost of an electric razor is a drop in the bucket compared with the ensuing maintenance charges no matter which razor one chooses. Answer:	First, take off the cap. Then push down on the blade and rotate it 90 degrees, either clockwise or counter-clockwise and it pop loose for removal. Reattaching it is just the opposite, push down on the blade and twist it 90 degrees, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. Then replace the cover and it is ready to go.

Answer:	The number doesn’t matter. I believe it’s a manufacturers “model” number based on when it was manufactured. All the normal 5 star replacement heads work for all the 5 star shavers. They have “close” and “super close” (determines how thin the foil is) the super close will Rip/break if you are aggressive when shaving. The “close” is more durable. Also the color of the foil, silver or gold does not matter.

Question:	Is this strong enough to cut a long thick beard or do you have to trim down first with another razor then use this one
Answer:	You have to trim down first with clippers. The instructions say the stubble should ideally be 1/32" which is basically a few days worth of razor stubble, depending on how fast your hair grows. This shaver is exclusively for stubble; if the hair is too long, it will not cut it, remember it is a shaver, not clippers. This will not give you as smooth a shave as a razor, it is designed to prevent razor bumps and irratation. It does what is was designed to do...give you a close shave without irratation.
Question:	Has anybody used this on there head...? I shave my head every 3 days...looking to save some money on blades
Answer:	Well, sort of. I previously owned the black shaver by Wahl, looks nearly identical to this one, and is nicknamed 'Finale' It was OK. It is more of a "finishing touch" shaver;if you stay on top of your shaving and don't let the hairs exceed about 1/32" in length (head AND face. It will shave smooth. I'm considering purchasing the Red one . Both Wahl shaver's the red and black I can only assume are similar to the red and black Andis Profoil Lithium Titanium shavers. Which, the Andis red I swear by. But I would like to also give the Wahl red 5 Star shaver a go and see how that one is. I wasn't Uber-crazy about the Wahl black 'Finale' -if you frequently and consistently shave keeping hairs 1/32" or smaller, then you will love it I'm sure. It does not cut anything larger than 1/32" (finishing touch" shavers like black Wahl Finale,/black Andis P/L/T shaver, that is)But also, be advised that (you may already know this) as with ANY new shaver, there will be an "adjustment period" for your skin and hair follicles to get used to and adjust to the new shaver. So for a few weeks, you may likely get incomplete shaves (leftover uncut stray hairs here and there on your head and face the shaver didn't cut) and/or hella razorburn. This is NORMAL and will subside after a few weeks or so (give or take) There is NOTHING WRONG with the shaver OR you. Just keep a disposable razor and shave cream handy and some aloe vera skin lotion to help with any razor burn, to eliminate this til after you start adjusting to the new shaver. It'll be a small hassle, yes, for only a small short time, but stick with the shaver and give it some time. I went through the same stuff too and almost got rid of my shavers, but I'll tell you what, I'm SO GLAD I stuck it out and allowed for adjustment period, because I get the most awesome head AND facial shaves now.
Question:	Is this as good as the 8061? What are the differences
Answer:	I spoke to WAHL directly about this. This model can ONLY be used after it has been charged. This was done to be compliant in California. The 8061 model can be used after it has been charged OR while plugged in to an electric outlet.
Question:	is this a good shaver for african americans
Answer:	I'm 64 and have used this shaver for about 20+ years. It's an excellent product for Black men and I suspect, others as well. Gives a very nice and close shave. I don't have heavy facial growth so shave only 3-4 times each week. Usually bumps are caused by ingrowing hair and/or razor use. This shaver doesn't cause bumps as far as can be ascertained. Highly recommended especially for 'da bruvvers.' I would make a commercial for this product without payment!

Question:	What is the difference between the palm and the pitbull line of shavers
Answer:	The Pittbulls are built better, but for the money this thing is just as good for closeness. You can easily order better heads for it with 4 and 5 head replacements for about $30.00 TO $4O.00. The order form comes with the razor. That's what I plan on doing when they wear out. Don't have any Idea when as I only have had this for 4 months, but so far so good. If the motor holds up all the better. This thing shaves my face better than my expensive Norelco and really rips my head down quick.
Question:	How close and even is this? Good enough to stay bald? How long does a blade last
Answer:	You can get super close, depending on the hard you press and how many times you go over the same spot. It's pretty effortless and even feels good. You can go all over your head, neck, collar and down your back to get super clean. I'm not sure yet how long the blades last. I use it 5x weekly for 4 months so far. I rinse the running blades after every shave and clean it by disassembling and rinsing the blade parts look Sundays. I love it!
Question:	Is this good for keeping bald head
Answer:	My dad has Parkinson's and uses this to keep his head bald. It is very easy for him to maneuver and keeps his head and face shaved clean.

Answer:	Hi, I've had my shaver since Xmas 2015, and haven't yet given changing the foil or cutter a thought. Wahl states, replace every 6-12 months(usage and beard toughness dependent), personally, I will change mine when I feel the shaver is struggling or starting to pull on my beard, always remember to be gentle when using the shaver, as the foil is fragile, and only cuts hair that is shorter than 1/32", basically a day or two' beard growth, you'll learn to judge, plus I clean the shaver and foil after every use. The shaver foil and cutters longevity is down to how it's used and maintained by the user. I hope this helps
