Answer:	I use this product and did read the jar. I "think" what they mean is no harsh chemicals. I have had NO problems with this product and have used it for several months. Burt's Bees has always been reliable and cocerned about their products. I hope this helps. Vb3

Answer:	They would but they're very small for that purpose and also they probably are much weaker than facial makeup remover. You want towelettes for removing face makeup and Burt's Bees makes several versions.
