For my just above shoulder length hair I use the 370 setting and my hair is done perfectly in under 10 minutes. my hair is really fine but there's quite a bit of it. I don't do anything fancy like beach waves, just simple smooth out, curl under the ends & bangs. I don't use the clips or glove but I assume that someone with longer hair would find those handy. I called Remington and they said this model was once made dual voltage but not any more. I told that to Amazon but apparently they have not updated their listing. So unless things have changed this model is not 220volt capable.

Answer:	I can't say from a technical standpoint, but it's interesting that the head of the shaver (blade) is all metal on the 7040 and plastic on the 5065... not sure it has an effect, but interesting nonetheless...

Answer:	Rectangle Wood Box Measurements 8.25" X 5.50" X2.50"
Question:	the iron has u.s. electric socket or european
Answer:	You can drill a hole in it for a charging cable. The box is cheaply made. The one that I got was damaged when I received it. The joints are glued together and came apart within a week I fixed it with wood glue and Brad nails. If you got a Michaels or hobby lobby near by I would reccomend going there to look at them. You can make sure it will work for you and they are only a couple of dollars more. At least you know what quality you are getting. These boxes are not good for staining and will need to be painted to you liking. Best of luck. You also might be better off looking for a charging station box at Ross or Marshals for what you need and probably around the same price. Hope this helped best of luck.

Answer:	The surface of the plates are flat and the edges are rounded.
Question:	Does this iron work well on African American hair? Also, do you have to close it tightly while flat ironing
Answer:	I have light wavy hair and I don’t need to test this on the hottest setting. But it works well even when you gently close it. I think it will be great on African American hair because of the various heat setting options. But don’t forget to apply heat protectant :)
