On longer strands it can take hold and does add volume, but it doesn't seem to last an entire day. You might consider Conair heated brushes as well. I find they work better (at least for me) and the volume/shaping lasts much longer. Their brushes come in ¾”, 1” and 1 ½” sizes. I find the 3/4" brush is ideal for pixie cuts.
