Answer:	Just a few seconds. It depends on the thickness of your hair and how big each strand is which you are curling.

Answer:	Yes it's relatively easy, I used some hair clips to hold up the top half to start and then let down a section at a time. Depending on how thick your hair is you may find it a little time consuming but once you master it could be done quickly.

Answer:	The clamp is pretty snug so I think you could get away with waving your already curly hair, just pull it from the end while you put it in so it doesn't go in lumpy.
