Bone Builder replaced bone meal years ago, because it became impossible to get bone meal from trusted sources. The Bone Builder dosage is based on the weight of the animal and while it can be used for the homemade diet, most people only use it for issues where the dog or cat needs additional calcium supplementation for growth issues, bone disease or because the dog or cat is on medications that may reduce calcium deposits in bone and teeth. However, the KA Calcium is the more popular calcium supplement for homemade diets, as unlike the Bone Builder, with the KA Calcium the amounts used are based on the amount of boneless meat you are feeding.
