In other words, a little product goes a long way on my fine hair. If I let the gel dry in place after application, it will be fairly stiff and a bit shiny. However, I usually work the gel throughout my hair after shampooing and then blow-dry, which results in no stiffness and my hair looks normal, not shiny or wet. |

| Answer: | I have never used Essential Silk, but this Chi product is great. I apply this product to my hair after I towel dry it. It is a leave-in product. I straighten my hair every day, and I never have split ends or frayed hair. I think this product is great. |

| Answer: | It's very similar to Biosilk (same company - Farouk), but as others have mentioned, it doesn't contain alcohol as a top ingredient, so is probably a bit better for hair heath. |
