Answer:	you just place it in the middle (i know it moves), and then when you put the dog's nail in there, it can only go so far and not passed that point....the first and only time i used it, i was still hesitant, so really i just cut a little bit of the nail off, not knowing if the 'stop' would be too far or not.....i think if it's your first time, you must determine how long the nail is, and if you put the dogs nail in there and you think the 'stop' is too close to the point where you're gonna hurt the dog, you pull back.....i think the 'stop' will work only if the nails are really long.....but i totally agree that there should be some instructions for us novices......hope this helps.........good luck!

Answer:	I don't know anything about the bearded dragon except what I read on-line. If you are able to un-sheath the nails like on a cat, then the answer is yes. These will probably work on your reptile. Are you supposed to trim the claws of a dragon?
