9 best orly basecoats

Orly is a well-known brand in the beauty and nail care industry, and they offer a variety of base coats that are commonly used in nail care routines. Here's what you need to know about Orly basecoats:

  1. Nail Prep: Basecoats are an essential part of a nail care routine. Orly basecoats are designed to prepare your nails for the application of nail polish. They create a smooth and even surface on the nail, filling in ridges and imperfections, which helps nail polish adhere better and last longer.

  2. Strengthening: Some Orly basecoats are formulated to strengthen nails. They often contain ingredients like vitamins and minerals that promote healthy nail growth and prevent them from becoming brittle or prone to breaking.

  3. Nail Protection: Orly basecoats act as a protective barrier between your natural nails and nail polish. This helps prevent staining and damage to your nails, especially if you frequently wear dark or bold nail colors.

  4. Adhesion: The adhesion of nail polish is essential for a long-lasting manicure. Orly basecoats improve the adhesion of nail polish, ensuring that it stays in place without chipping or peeling prematurely.

  5. Drying Time: Some Orly basecoats are quick-drying, which can save time during your nail care routine. Faster drying times mean you can proceed to apply your nail color sooner.

  6. Types of Basecoats: Orly offers a range of basecoats to suit different needs. This may include hydrating basecoats for dry nails, ridge-filling basecoats for smoother application, and rubberized basecoats for added grip.

  7. Application: Applying an Orly basecoat is typically the first step in your nail care routine. After applying a thin, even layer, allow it to dry completely before proceeding with your chosen nail polish color and topcoat.

  8. Longevity: Using a basecoat, such as those from Orly, can significantly extend the life of your manicure by preventing chips and improving the overall look of your nails.

  9. Removal: When it's time to remove your nail polish, Orly basecoats do not typically make the process more challenging. They can be removed with regular nail polish remover.

  10. Availability: Orly basecoats are widely available in beauty supply stores, online retailers, and often in nail salons. You can choose the specific basecoat that matches your nail care needs and preferences.

When selecting an Orly basecoat, consider your specific nail concerns and the type of finish you desire for your manicure.Orly offers a range of options to cater to different nail types and preferences, helping you achieve a beautiful and long-lasting nail look.

Answer: It will not work over get manicure. Nails will continue to split if gel manicure is being applied. You need to remove the gels for 2-4 weeks and apply the treatment as recommended.
Question: Does this formula stain nails
Answer: Formula 1 for 4-6 weeks until nails improve. Then follow up with Formula 2 once or twice a week; or with each manicure as a base coat. You can also use formula 1 in the same manner as formula 2; it’s just that formula 2 is not as strong and has other ingredients like lime and garlic that protect against fungus and keep the nails white.

Answer: If it stays on your nails it didnt last on my nails two days.before it begin to peel ....it also burnt my nails ...check into some of the items that are in this product before u use it
Question: Does this prevent staining from dark nail polish
Answer: This product is FAKE. IT DOES NOT CONTAIN KERATIN AS ADVERTISED. I AM A CERTIFIED NAIL TECH WHO HAS BEEN USING THE REAL PRODUCT FOR OVER 10 YEARS.
Question: Does it really take 1-2 months to ship for even Prime members
Answer: I had a split on a nail that i've had about 5 years, maybe longer. with the help of my manicurist, I started this product in January 2013 following her firm instructions.. for a month, I used it as directed on the bottle and every 7 days, removed it and started again.. Month 2- I had a manicure with no polish but to clean cuticles and shape nails, still following month 1 process. Month 3 same thing but used every other day.. Monday 4 same thing but now had a manicure with polish, put on every other day and removed when polish chipped.. it's now late June, the last manicure I had, THEY HAD TO CUT MY NAILS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!! I also noticed the split was gone.. I have about another month to go before my nails are fully grown out from January.. I've used dozens of products; ;nothing worked before this one. A dark polish manicure now lasts 10-11 days and I do a lot with my hands especially since we are getting ready to move.. I do understand I will need to keep this up for my nails to stay like this..
Question: second time I am asking this question. Does this product have any petroleum/latex ingredients in it
Answer: Not at all. It smells like regular nail polish.

User questions & answers

Question: Is Miss Conduct a bright pink, or more of a purple
Answer: No
Question: Is it black or deep maroon
Answer: Yes. I use this as my base coat and be sure to cover the ends of my nails. Cover the ends with your first coat of color and with your top coat also, and you can get regular to last a week or more without chips. This is not light-cured so I don't think you could use it with gel.
Question: this nails is permanent
Answer: Hello, I use this under polish, gels, vinyl nail wraps, and polish strips. Appears to work well. I haven’t had any issues.
Question: Does moonlit madness have a gold tint

User questions & answers

Question: Will Orly rubberized nail base coat fill-in minor striations to create a smooth surface for metallic polishes
Answer: I believe it is made in China.
Question: Can you use it under gel polish
Answer: In my opinion, it is a terrible product and I do not recommend purchasing it. The quality is awful, for instance, there is no precision or good cutting edges on any of the tools. I don't even know what some of these "tools" are for. I have since gone back to Revlon manicure/pedicure tools which are much better and last for decades. You get what you pay for!
Question: whats the purpose of it being "rubberized
Answer: just cut your fingernail
Question: do you allow it to dry before applying polish; and do you apply ait as topcoat over polish
Answer: I have never had it burn. I think the important thing is to make sure you clean your nails and cuticles with a nail brush and warm soap and water to make sure all the nail polish remover is cleaned off and the sooner to get the acetone off your hands the less is absorbed into the system. The only think I can think of as the cause of the burning is that the nail polish remover is trapped underneath.

User questions & answers

Question: Is the primer a dehydrator
Answer: It's black with flecks of glitter in it.
Question: How do you remove this product
Answer: It doesn't wash off with water but it doesn't stay on permanently. Nail polish remover takes it off nicely. It's a beautiful color with great coverage on the nail. I recommend it!
Question: Is the top coat, base coat, primer and cuticle oil considered all breathable
Answer: Not at all. I just posted a picture in my review. It looks exactly like milk chocolate.
Question: Can you use this with an led light, or does it have to be uv
Answer: It may. I used this particular product as a third step; first, I "rough" up my entire nail bed with a medium/coarse foam block filer, second I apply "Bond-Aid" to prep my nails; third I apply the Orly Bonder; fourth I apply my base coat, then I continue with my layers of color and top coats. The result is a smooth finish manicure which can last from 3-5 weeks with very little chipping. Hope this helps you! :)
